National Science Day is a day of pride for the entire nation as it commemorates the day that CV Raman discovered the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. We, at SSBS, celebrated the preceding week as Vigyaan Sarvatra Pujyate (Science is worshipped everywhere). We began our celebrations on the 24th of February 2022, entitled “Milestones of modern Indian science and technology.” We realised that while our teachers play a crucial part in our own stories we never get to know their journeys, so we arranged a small gathering where we got to here the experiences of our own faculty, of their experiences as they built their careers!
A national award winning documentary by director Raja Choudhary about the lives of eminent scientists Satyendra Nath Bose, C. V. Raman and Maghnad Saha was screened at SSBS on 26th February 2022 as a part of the Science Week Celebration.
On 28th February 2022, we had games and debates as we celebrated the National Science Day. We bore the quote “A moment of SCIENCE please!” as both the classes of MSc, the JRFs, the PhDs, the project students and the faculty, everyone participated as they competed with each other to win the day!
